Changing the biome had no impact on mob spawns, even after restarting minecraft. This prevents prey fish from aggroing the Guardians inside and luring them out into open water. You should probably also do the same around any nearby Ocean Monuments. It also means prey fish won't spawn, so you'll actually need to use the fishing pole. This will make it so that the player only gets curb-stomped by Fire & Ice when they swim away from or expand their starting raft. (Press F3 to see world coordinates and do the math on paper to figure out where you want the boundary to lie.) You want at least 128 blocks from every point on the default raft, in order to prevent spawns. You should probably do the "Open to LAN" trick to enable cheats and do this in Creative Mode, since you'll be carefully clicking precise blocks on the ocean floor. (Normally, if you wanted to actually change the terrain to a new biome, you'd follow up the /setbiome command with the /regen command.) Since the chunks are already loaded, this won't affect the already-generated terrain. (This is probably what most modpack servers use to disable enemy spawns in player spawn/portal/trade areas.) If you're not already familiar with WorldEdit, there's a crash course here: In the short term, try using WorldEdit's /setbiome command to change the area around the player's Raft to something like Void which doesn't spawn any mobs. (It's not like Food Funk was making the game any harder anyway- the world literally throws fresh fish at you 24/7.) I highly recommend that everyone try disabling the Food Funk mod, though, so the thousands of random fish you have to collect in order to de-lag the area around your raft can at least all fit in your inventory and can be thrown away a stack at a time. The Lingering Loot mod seems to have no effect on drop rates or despawn times, though I might just be configuring it poorly. Both approaches require less loot drops, but I'm not sure how to implement that. The other approach would be to make it less about milking loot RNG to overcome impossible mob wildlife. One approach to fixing it would be to make it more about finding scarce food. Right now it's like trying to set up a base inside the world's largest mob grinder. There's two directions you could go trying to make this fun. I've been tweaking this mod on my end using MultiMC trying to make it fun in singleplayer.
